Power Automate Diagnostic Clinic

Something is broken. A flow is failing silently, data is going missing, or a critical automation just stopped working. We find the root cause, tell you exactly what is wrong, and fix it — at a fixed price.

  • Flow failing silently with no alerts
  • Automation worked before — now it doesn't
  • Records dropping or duplicating unexpectedly
  • Pre-go-live audit before production deployment
  • New team member inheriting old flows

What we look for in every diagnostic

Architecture & monolith analysis

Deeply nested "Christmas Tree" flows cause browser slowdowns and make debugging nearly impossible. We identify where monoliths should be broken into modular child flows.

Exception handling & silent failures

Flows that fail without notifying anyone leave data out of sync for days. We audit Try-Catch-Finally patterns and Configure Run After settings to ensure nothing fails silently.

Performance & throttling

Random timeouts, dropped records, and 429 errors usually trace back to sequential loops, missing pagination, or OData queries pulling too much data. We find and fix the bottleneck.

Expression & null-value errors

A single missing ? in an expression can crash a flow on an unexpected record. We identify rigid expressions and apply coalesce patterns to make them null-safe.

ALM & connection governance

Flows hardcoded to a specific user's credentials break when that person leaves. We audit connection references and service principal usage to insulate flows from personnel changes.

How it works

  1. Phase 1 — Intake & access (Days 1–2)

Scoping call to identify the affected flows, grant diagnostic access, and prioritize the most critical issues. No changes made yet.

  2. Phase 2 — Architecture analysis (Days 3–5)

Deep review of flow structure, run history, error logs, and expressions. Root causes identified across all five diagnostic areas.

  3. Phase 3 — Findings delivery (Week 1–2)

Written diagnostic report delivered. Live review session to walk through findings, answer questions, and agree on remediation scope before any fixes are executed.

  4. Phase 4 — Remediation execution (Weeks 2–4, Professional & Transform)

Hands-on fix execution via live working sessions alongside your team. Every change is explained so your team understands what was done and why.

  5. Phase 5 — Handoff & monitoring (Final week)

Post-fix verification, admin runbook delivery, and monitoring setup. Final sign-off call to confirm all issues are resolved.

Common objections

"We could just rebuild it ourselves."
You can — but you'll likely rebuild the same problems. Without a proper diagnostic, the root cause stays unknown. The new flow will hit the same wall sooner or later, and you'll have spent the time twice.
"It worked before. Something must have changed."
Exactly right — and that something is usually a connector update, a permission change, a data format shift, or a license modification. The diagnostic finds which one. "Something changed" is a symptom, not a diagnosis.
"We don't have documentation on how it was built."
Most clients don't. The diagnostic process creates the documentation — flow maps, expression inventories, and architectural notes are all part of the deliverable, even if they didn't exist before we started.
"What if the flow is beyond repair?"
We will tell you that in the Essential tier before you invest in remediation. If a rebuild is the right answer, you get an honest recommendation and a quoted scope — not a surprise at the end of the project.

Jeffrey McFarland, Jsquared Solutions

Why work with Jeffrey

Jeffrey McFarland specializes in the kind of Power Automate problems that have stumped internal teams for months. He has diagnosed flows with thousands of run failures, untangled monolith architectures that took browsers minutes to render, and rebuilt connection governance that survived years of staff turnover.

His diagnostic process doesn't just patch symptoms — it finds the structural reason a flow is fragile and addresses it at the root. Every engagement includes a written report that explains the findings in plain business language, so you know exactly what was wrong and why the fix will hold.
